We all know it saves a lot of time, money, and frustration to work with someone who has experience with something, so here's a brief snapshot of mine:
My exposure to the staffing world was getting a temp job through Kelly Services. Being a divorced mom with two little kids, I needed income and a feeling of security fast!
Back then I had no idea that working as a temporary employee would change my life and lead to a long-term career.
One thing led to another, but that first assignment started my career in this business that has spanned over 20 years - from managing a Kelly Services branch office to a field support position for two different national staffing companies, where I provided sales training and management coaching for 26 offices.
Traveling across the country every other week began taking its toll on me and my teenage daughter, so when an opportunity came along for me to buy my own local franchise, I decided to jump in. Even though I knew it would be challenging, something told me not to pass it up.
It was quite a ride, filled with victories, bumps, bruises, and falling on my face a few times, but it was the best hands-on learning experience of my career. Having my own office showed me exactly what staffing companies go through on a daily basis.
